Sheol is used 65 times in the Old Testament. Hades is used 9 times in the New Testament.
Many other images are used in the New Testament describing a fiery judgment for those not saved such as Gehenna which was the garbage pit of Jerusalem where fires were constantly burning or the burning up of the chaff at the harvest time, the bottomless pit, the lake of fire. One place uses the Greek word "Tartaros" meaning the deepest abyss of Hades in 2 Peter 2:4.
